Capercaillie are a big type of grouse known for the males distinctive plummage and behaviour, this one is male.  They are territorial, rare and found in native pineland, we have never seen one and they are at risk of extinction.
 
Ours measures approximately 9.5/10cm in height, 9cm width and 1.5cm thick.  Like all our items it is cut out and hand carved and painted making each an individual character and will differ slightly from the product images shown.  Minor wood imperfections, carving misshaping and painting errors are not seen as flaws but as enhancing each individual pieces own character, please bear this in mind when purchasing our handmade products.
 
Our products can be wiped clean using a slightly damp lint free cloth.  We recommend occasionally refinishing using a child safe clear wax or other EN71-3 certified sealer to further extend its protection.  It is made and testing to be UKCA conformant to those aged 3 years and over who no longer mouth toys due to risk of small parts forming if broken and the base wood not being tested.
