This is our Fairy King wooden toy figure for small world play. Scottish fairies are said to love the colour green which is why people get told to be wary of wearing it for fear of upsetting the ‘wee folk’. It is also said to be why Scotland has Green Lochans as this is caused by the fairies doing their laundry in them. This fairy king wears a green top, has a gold crown and carries a gold orb topped staff. He has green, turquoise and blue coloured wings which along with the crown and orb are coated with a beautifully shimmery frosted glaze and makes this figure very special looking.
 
Our toy figure is made of Lime wood and measures approximately 9cm long by 15/15.5cm tall and 2.8mm thick.  This wooden figure has been cut out then hand carved to further shape before hand sanding, painting and sealing, this very hand crafted process therefore makes each piece a little unique in nature and so will differ slightly from the images shown.  Please bear in mind when purchasing that this is a handcrafted item and minor manufacturing marks, paint errors or carving mishaps are not seen as flaws but as enhancing each wooden toy figures individual character.
 
All our wooden toys can be gently wiped clean using a slightly damp lint free cloth and we would recommend in the future refinishing our figures using a suitable child safe EN71-3 certified clear wax or other sealer to further extend its protection for longevity.  We make and test our products to be UKCA conformant for those aged 3 and over who no longer mouth their toys due to our base wood not being chemically tested, the small size of some figures and the risk of small parts forming if broken.  All our range uses child safe EN71-3 certified stains, paints and sealers.
