Before Pumpkins became easily available to make Halloween Lanterns Neeps/Swede/Turnips were used so this Neep Lantern is our offering to Halloween Season small world play scenes (pumpkins are an easier vegetable to carve). This lantern is coloured in yellows, green and purples with carved shapes to show eyes, a mouth, nostrils and the lantern lid, these areas are painted yellow and orange with a shimmer glaze as if they are glowing from the candle light within.
 
Hand carved to shape out of Lime wood, each measures approximately 5cm x2.8cm x5cm high.  Like all our products it is cut out then hand carved and painted so each is slightly individual in character and therefore will slightly differ from the product images. Please bear in mind you are purchasing a hand crafted item and minor manufacturing marks, carving misshaps or paint errors are not seen as flaws but as enhancing each items individual character.
 
Our pieces be wiped clean using a slightly damp lint free cloth and we recommend refinishing occasionally in the future with a child safe EN71-3 certified clear wax or other sealer to extend its protection. We make and test our products to be UKCA conformant for those aged 3 years and over who no longer mouth toys due to the risk of small parts forming if broken and our base wood not being tested.
