A Storm Kelpie is another name given to the Blue Men o'the Minch, a type of Merfolk who live in the waters off the west coast of Scotland between the mainland and the outer Hebrides.  Known for creating stormy seas and pulling down fishing boats into the watery depths unless sailors answer their riddles. 
 
This Storm Kelpie is based on our logo, developed out of the Blue Man stories and adapted to be a more feminine form to represent us.  All our products are cut out and then shaped by hand carving making each one unique in character as will hand painting so each item will differ slightly from the photographs shown, minor manufacturing marks, carving misshaping and paint errors are not seen as flaws but as enhancing the individual nature of each piece.  Please bear in mind you are purchasing a handmade product.
 
The figure is made of Lime wood and stands approximately 14cm high by 12cm width and 2.8cm deep.  It is made and tested to be UKCA conformant for children aged 3 and over, not for anyone younger or still likely to mouth toys due to a small part choking hazard risk if the toy breaks and the base wood has not been tested.  You can care for your product by wiping clean with a damp lint free cloth and as with all wooden products it would benefit from occasionall refinishing with a child safe EN71-3 certified clear wax or finish to best protect it longer.
